Longdon on Tern Mill

HI -I am researching someone who worked at Longdon Upon  Tern Mill ( 1850 's - 1880's). I have come across a wonderful article in a newspaper describing an evening celebration given by one of the owners when he left the mill. The article describes how everyone working at the mill was given a monetry gift ( 10/- to £5 depending on length of service) and how the mill workers thanked their employer - they mention how he was concerned about their general welfare and comfort in their homes. He sounds a most enlightened employer.
What I want to know is was there just the one mill on Longdon On Tern ( owned by RS Taylor & RT Heatley) ? Was it water driven or a windmill and what were they milling? From the article mentioning how the owner was concerned about comfort in their homes  did the mill also provide housing?
I've searched in the internet but found little. Thank you for reading my enquiry.

I can`t help much with your query but have you tried searching www.shropshirearchives.org.uk

From there it appears it was a water corn mill owned by the Duke of Sutherland and rented from him by your relation`s employer.
Also there was a big warehouse now converted to housing.
Hope this little is of some help.

1851 Directory of Shropshire states " There are extensive corn mills on the banks of the river in this parish". It also names in its Directory for Longden -Upon- Tern Joseph Cooke, corn miller and Thomas Paddock, farmer and corn miller, Manor House.

That is just great - thank you all! 
I've now had chance to look at the Shropshire records office and can see there are details of the mills lease changing hands on more than one occasion. Richard Taylor who was running it in the period I was looking at took over the lease in 1859. I had, wrongly assumed that he owned the mill. All the leases change hands on Ladyday - just love that.
The map is just wonderful. It is so detailed and I can see where roads once were that have left their mark in the landscape. Also notices a row of cottages called Millers Row so maybe they were houses for the workers.
