I only have the copy  I  ordered from  the registrar general,  is Folio no:463/1865 reg at dury ref no 14/18 no4548  I am unsure about Henry A.H Hitchens been his real name as its nowhere else except New Zealand.

Can you please list all the information on the marriage certificate that you have.

Henry's full name is rather long, which might not suit the format of earlier records, ie census, that you have accessed.

the 2 witness are a butch and laundry lady both surname Ash of Papakura
 thats all it has

About the marriage certificate -

Are you looking at an image of a handwritten document....or...a typed transcription?

What names do you see for the witnesses....each one.......what does "butch"....mean.

the one I have is hand written and butch is butcher sorry

Thats part of my issue when I look for him as Henry Albert Holland Hitchens ,I can only find the hole name in New Zealand nothing in England and nothing I have tells me that Eliza and Henry are his parents its only from word of mouth or because other have used it. I wont to be able to document what I state so I know I have the right person.
