Mothers Name for Baptism

Hi, Can anyone decypher this, the transcript states Winifred Fahy and I dont think it looks anything like a Winifred?

It looks like Winny to me. That is short for Winifred.

As this is a baptism record for the daughter then I'd assume that her parents wanted to call her Winny and not Winifred.

I have come across this before where in my ancestry an older daughter was baptised Winifred but died an infant and a later daughter was baptised Winny I guess to partly remember the older deceased daughter but to give the new daughter her own identity.

Tha is for the help.  The daughter is called Catherine.  The fly in the ointment is I dont think Winifred and dad John got married.  But thank you

If that's an RC baptism than they are married. If not the priest would have made that fact very clear.
