Year and make of this old farm truck
« on: Wednesday 18 March 20 21:03 GMT (UK) »
Here is a photo of my grandfather, Richard French (standing on ground) and my father William ( only the top of his head is showing)   They are unloading a shipment of grain feed in Western Massachusetts.   I am sorry the front of the truck is so dark, I know it makes it much more difficult to identify.   Anybody out there have any idea what the make and year of this truck would be.  The photo was taken in approximately 1924.
    Thanks for your help.  Bert

I'm not a car guy, but it looks similar to what REO was making in the 1920s. They made a lot of different kinds of trucks.

Another quick internet search brought up a 1920 REO truck that looks similar, too, even though one is designed as a delivery truck and one is a farm truck.

This looks as close as any other truck I've seen. It's a 1923 REO. The cab looks virtually identical with the three windows and the bed would just need to be modified to use as a farm truck.

Just reading about that particular truck in the picture and the owner says it orginally had the three-foot sideboards on the bed like in the truck in your photo. He just prefers how it looks without them.
