Hi I'm looking in to my Lancashire family, they were Artingstall's from Ashton Under Lyne and Droylsden. Really looking in to the family of John Thomas Artingstall born 1839.

Hi I'm mostly looking in to his parents, as I have his birth certificate which gives his parents as Thomas Artingstall and Ann Woods, but I've not been able to find anything records for his mother.

Is this  him described as a Nurse Child in 1851 2234/155/31

John Artingstall 10 yrs b Gorton living with a Whitehead family.

I think there's a good chance that is him.

Baptised June 16 1839, abode Gorton, John Thomas Artingstall, parents Thomas and Ann, father's occpn "Hatter"

A report of an inquest in the Manchester Courier & Lancashire General Advertiser, 9 Dec 1826, names one of the witnesses as a " ... James Artingstall, of Hyde, hatter ...".

Family link somewhere??

Do you have an address for the family from the birth certificate?
Do you have Thomas and Ann together in a census?

There are several Artingstalls in Gorton in 1841 - Hatters but no Thomas as yet.

There's a Gorton death, 21 Feb 1839, of a Thomas Artingstall on FindMyPast but cannot find it on the GRO to determine age.

But there is a GRO death registration for a
Thomas Artingstall, Sep Qtr 1839, Chorlton, age 44
