There is a Henry perry who dies in fyfield 1823, born c1763, which would fit in age reasonably with his marriage date. The only Henry I can find born at roughly the right time scale would be Henry perry b1762 great hallingbury. His father is richard and mother Elizabeth. Doesn’t help much with linking him to Abraham. There are Perrys in high ongar, fyfield, great hallingbury, Beauchamp roding. Maybe there’s just lots of them and it’s a common name. Maybe they’re loosely related rather than cousins?

Thank you very much everybody. It has certainly shown that there were a lot of Perrys living around the Fyfield/Beauchamp Roding area! Our stumbling block now is discovering Henry Perry's parents. He might have been the one from Great Hallingbury, although he would also fit age-wise as one of Abraham Perry and Mary Sutton's children. I think we will have to look at the microfiche parish records at the Essex Records Office for this (we live in East Kent) and also go back on Maria Thickens' line (who married William Henry Perry). We have found her parents - Thomas Thickens/Thickings and Rebecca Loyns, married in Beauchamp Roding 24/05/1778. It is great to have several new lines of enquiry! Sarah

I’ve been through fyfield, beauchamp roding, high ongar and great hallingbury parish records. Only great hallingbury had a Henry perry.

Thomas thickings, who married in 1778, was baptised in willingale Doe on 18/3/1753 to Samuel and Elisabeth thickings. On his wedding record, it says that Rebecca was from willingale doe. Also found perrys there ... an Abraham but no Henry!
