Records at the Church and Central Library in Blackpool i an told - a mystery around a grand uncle as found his death on a probate record Charles Burgess 16 Feb 1957 aged 79 and a matching date, age and name or him at Marton but buried with a Mary Ann Burgess 21 Jul 1962 but my Charles was marred to Demiah who died 12 Feb 1959 at Wesham Park Hospital after Charles death who also died at Wesham Park and his probate mentions Mary Ann whose probate is to Sydney Burgess whose name is new to me, headstone does not have Demiah either - confused but a stroke has not helped, am i missing something obvious
Could it be two Charles Burgess - the original burial entry may tell me more but am not going to get there myself due to poor mobility. Hope this makes sense

Where was Charles born?

Mary Ann Burgess was 86 when she died.  Did Charles have a brother Sydney or a sister Mary Ann?

Demiah died 1959 Fylde.  Probate to Norman Burgess

Mary Anns age is on the headstone at Marton as is Charles but stone reads in memory of my dear parents but cannot understand as cannot find their wedding but Demiah wed Charles 02 Jun 1901 at Salford and were together 29 Sept 1939 at 293 Bipsham Road, Blackpool and Charles was at 52 Penrose Avenue, Blackpool when he died and in 1949 at 52 Penrose Avenue, Blackpool with Mary while Demiah was alive but maybe  in Wesham by this time

Thank you i have these details and Charles son Norman Burgess seems to have wed Doreen Emmaline Davison in 1936 at St Stephen, Blackpool but again need to see a copy of register entry to be certain but Norman is named on Demiah probate and am told i have wrong Charles so need to look again for Charles Burgess death

Do you have that child's birth cert confirming mother was Demiah?

Charles & Demiah married 1901 Salford & GRO online has the following children

Rhoda b June qtr 1902
Ruth Dec qtr 1906
Norman March qtr 1911

So that confirms Norman as their son

Do you have a copy of the 1901 marriage cert showing who Charles father was?  Lancashire BMD shows it as a civil marriage so it cannot be looked up in parish records?

Are you working on the lines of his parents being Jonathan Burgess and Mary Ellen Masterton who married in 1861?

The 1871/1881 & 1891 for Jonathan & Mary Ellen show no son Sydney and no daughter Mary Ann which rules her out as either being the sister or sister in law of Charles

Given his birthdate of 24.12.1877 I am surprised his birth was registered in the Dec qtr rather than March qtr 1878
