John Thomas Bowen  b. 4/9/1854 Presteigne Radnorshire  England.
parents George Bowen died Crimean War.
Mary Bowen nee Leeke. ( I have found Mary buried in the St Idloes church yard, Llanidloes,
County of Montgomery, England
where her parents are also buried.

John Thomas Bowen arrived in NZ 1908  lived at Woodend
died New Plymouth 9/8/1925  while living with his son John James Bowen at Marakopa, near Awakino. North Island.
Eliza spent her last years in Christchurch.  Article in Paperspast of how she attended Council meetings
and sometimes the only person in the Gallery.   .. so must have separated??? Eliza Bowen in Bromley Cemetery Christchurch headstone has just her name.
John Thomas and Eliza Wilson... usual address on marriage Cert.   both of them...   Woodend  (near Christchurch)  I have only Certified Copy of Entry of marriage , no witnesses on this.
Would there be a actual marriage Cert.  with witnesses if I send for one.  in 1882
Should I send for one???

Freshfields       Thank you for the transcript of the headstone in kaiapoi

How have you identified this couple to be the parents of your John Thomas BOWEN?

"...John Thomas Bowen  b. 4/9/1854 Presteigne Radnorshire  England.
parents George Bowen..........Mary Bowen nee Leeke."

You need  printout .......not certificate.....of the marriage record, 1882.

Use this site to identify and order a printout of the marriage record.

Hi Decota, this too is my family, unfortunately they have been a nightmare to research.  I descend from Louisa Wilson whose married name is Dryden.  My tree on ancestry.com.au is Dryden, Johnstone, Kissell and Thomson Family Tree.
Dryden, Johnstone, Kissell, Thomson, Butson, Rose, Thornhill, McMaster, Reid
