Sympathy/Commiseration
Everybody's profound sympathy with Mr David Williams, Ivy House, Beddgelert (formerley of Craflwyn) in his sickness/misery. The sad news of the death of his brother, Private Rowland, on the battlefield affected him so much he burst a blood vessel. Good to learn he is better.
Fall of a Beddgelert Soldier
A telegram came middle of last week notifying that private Rowland Williams, 2, Gwynant Street, was "dangerously ill, with wounds, in France". He was wounded on 19 March, a serious one, in his leg. Saturday came the sad news he had died.. Before joining the army he was a gardener at Craflwyn. He had many friends in Beddgelert. He leaves a widow and four children, together with brothers and sisters, and numerous family in the area. Profound sympathy for his widow in particular, and the family, in their mourning on account of his loss.
