very late birth registration! could anyone help me please
« on: Monday 02 March 20 20:28 GMT (UK) »
Hi Everyone
It's been quite some years since I've been on here so please forgive me if I am posting on the wrong board.

Agnes Marguerite Carter born 26.7.1901 married James Challoner Washington born 26.6.1902 on  24.12.1926 at Leigh Registry Office.

However "they" already had a son......Thomas Lewis Carter Washington born 27.11.1925.

I could not find a birth certificate initially, but have stumbled across a hand written 'late' entry for 1925.....
Stating 'see D'42'.   Does that mean he was registered in 1942?!

Can anyone please advise how I can find any more information regarding his birth? Obviously I don't want to upset family by asking questions, but he was born out of wedlock and seemingly registered late.  Also the next siblings were born starting from 1931. So before I jump the gun I would really appreciate any guidance.
Many thanks in advance.

I am not sure about late entries but I think there can be re- registration after the marriage of the child’s  parents.
This is obviously much later so perhaps was made official because of military service perhaps?
