Can someone date 2 photo's by clothes please

Hi I have been sent 2 photo's which I have called Mary & Fred.
I have no idea who the people are or where they lived. I hope they lived in Ireland.
May I ask if someone can date (and hopefully place them) the clothes etc please
I am sorry to be a bit vague but there is no point me guessing.

This is my restored version, I remember doing it some time ago. I will see if I still have it on my computer.

Hi Carol, That was over a year ago and I have just found them both on my computer filed in the wrong place and forgotten about !! You did a great job.
Now, I want to know more of them - time era and place if possible to enable me to do some detective work maybe.
They are now stored on the desktop!

He's dressed typically 1870's but we would need to see the original in order to date the card stock.

I'me afraid I will not get the originals at all. They may have been 'disposed of' months ago, hence my hope. But 1870's ??? I have been wondering if it could just possibly be someone born 1845 but where?
