I have a family story of the above named man, Albert Henry Cawthorn, going to Dunkirk from Hull to pick up soldiers. His nickname was Golly/Gollie or Goliath.
Can anyone help me verify this or prove it to be just a tale?
Thank you.
The only way that you will find the answer is either by asking relatives or looking at Hull newspapers, Nicknames don't appear on official documents. You don't give enough information to provide a meaningful answer i'm afraid.
