Wonder what you think? Mediterranean Bride who brought this wonderful gown or material in her own country to downtown Canarvon West Aust - when please was this photo?  Where is she from? Greece? Maltese from the lace? Would love your opinions  :) :) :) :)

I know you didn't ask for color, but I couldn't resist. It's a great picture.  ;D

If this was taken as a wedding photo would you not expect the ring to be visible?

Lovely photo but I’m not sure of her heritage  - she could be from anywhere.

If you are trying to identify her origins by the lace, could it not be that a (possibly) wealthy woman could have purchased lace from anywhere? The lace looks like a tunic of some sort rather than part of a dress. There is a skirt visible, and a ribbon of some sort.

Does any of that tally with a wedding or other ceremony related to a specific culture? It’s possibly a bit racy to be a religious one.  :)

Date wise I think this is very tricky because not much clothing is visible. Hairstyle and jewellery? Could be Edwardian, though my first thought was 1950s, though I think the hairstyle is a bit ‘loose’ for that era.

If you can find any identifiable markings or studio name on the photo that might help .... even telling us what kind of card or mount it is on might give dating clues.

I can see a ring on her left hand, it is just a tiny bright mark.

You might be right.

A wedding photo would generally have the ring featured prominently.

Judith, is this a family photo?

I agree not sure it is a wedding photo as you would expect flowers at least somewhere and even a husband parents etc.

She appears to be showcasing the lace, that is the focal point of the photo. She is posed a bit like Queen Elizabeth. She may not be a Family member, she could be a celebrity. I agree that it doesn't appear to be Bridal as I would expect to see some kind of headdress. The reason I thought it might be French was that it could be Breton Lace. There really are no clues to date it without seeing the whole photo and the back.
