William Henry Oakley died in Middlesex in October 1896.

Three children emigrated around 1897 or 8 the

eldest David (1869) and the

youngest Harriett Elizabeth (1883) ended up in Kalgoorlie by 1899.

The middle sibling Phillip John (1873) married in NZ in 1902 to Alice Dormer.

Where did you get the 1883 year of birth for Harriett?

Harriet Elizabeth Oakley Feb 10th 1883 - inscribed in her bible

Mmm....... ??? HEO can't be Maria Oakley's daughter as she died in 1882  ???

HEO should be registered in Mar qtr 1883

This is the only one that's showing on FreeBMD
Mar 1883
OAKLEY    Harriett Emma        Westhampnett    2b   420
GRO indexes gives her mmn SHORT and she died age 20 in 1903

Could it be the date  she was given the bible  ???

Does it specifically say that is her date of birth or is it just a date written next to her name?

1871 Census reads Henriette - don't you think?

I read it as HARRIETT E Oakley

It says Harriett E.

You’ll need to purchase the 1948 WA death cert to confirm Harriett’s age and that you have the correct family.

Good morning everyone.
Harriet's death notice by David Oakley, attached, says that she is his sister. But if her birth date was 1883 was she the daughter of Henry W Oakley and Annie Ruhabina Oakley? Buried in same plot see below. When did they get married?
Its seems likely that Harriet Elizabeth was not the sister of Ellen, David and Phillip.
First picture is of David Oakley before he left for Coolgardie 1899.
And the last picture in the set was it seems taken by the same photographer but at a later date, how old is the girl?

OK I surrender Harriet was born in 1866 and was 82 when she died. Which is quite feasible.

But I am still curious about Annie Ruhabina Oakley.
