Oakley's from Enfield

William Henry Oakley died in Middlesex in October 1896. Three children emigrated around 1897 or 8 the eldest David (1869) and the youngest Harriett Elizabeth (1883) ended up in Kalgoorlie by 1899. The middle sibling Phillip John (1873) married in NZ in 1902 to Alice Dormer.

We think all three siblings went to NZ first and then the oldest and youngest went to Fremantle.

However we have found no trace of the three in the travel records from Aus, NZ or UK scources.

Any suggestions?

Where do you see them in Western Australia at 1899?

Western Australia seems like a long way from New Zealand.

William Henry Oakley died in Middlesex in October 1896.

I assume the assumption here is that David left after his father’s death. His father died in October and David is in WA by 21 October 1896. Therefore, I’d suggest that they came to Australia first, or, they left UK prior to their father’s death.
