COMPLETED Address look-up 1891 & 1901 English census please
« on: Wednesday 12 February 20 10:47 GMT (UK) »
Hi all, can someone please let me know actual address of Henry Colvin in both 1891 & 1901 English census?

I have found him on Familysearch website, but address isn’t noted.  1891 Henry age 36, a Labourer in Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire with wife Sarah 29, Henry 8 (all born Ireland) then William 6, Maggie 4 & John 2, all born Lancashire.

1901 Henry age 45, a Mariner in Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire with wife Sarah J. 40, Sarah 20, Henry 17 (all born Ireland) then Margaret 14, John 12, Mary 10, Archibald 8, Robert 4, Agnes 2 & Elizabeth 0, all born Lancashire. Many thanks. Regards, TonyR.

P.S. There is no need to search for family after 1901, as they are back in Ireland with the death of Sarah Colvin, wife of Henry, recorded in 1909 in Belfast and then Henry Colvin’s death recorded in 1910, also in Belfast.

1891 is Brig Street, No. 9A.  The addresses go up to 9H and the same for preceding numbers (8A - 8H etc.).  If you have a look at it on Google maps it looks a bit like a prison compound  ;D

1901 is Barque Street, 2A.  It is the street over from Brig and looks exactly the same.  You wouldn't want to come home at night with a few whiskeys under your belt and have to find your place.

Thanks Colin & Debra, it's appreciated. My Gran was born & grew up in Steamer Street Barrow-in-Furness (also Grade 11 Listed Buildings) and they look the same type of building.

Debra, you look too refined to be a whiskey drinker ;D I might have joined you a few years ago, but not now. Thanks again. Regards, TonyR.
