Forgot to say the 1911 census shows Years Married, No of children and No of Children living once one clicks on Show all Information box.

Allow discrepancies in ages when looking for Births of Children, Births show Mother's maiden name which one needs to look at to ensure Siblings.

Thanks Hallmark

I'm still reeling from actually knowing where my Graham's had lived in Ireland.  Ballycarngannon.

Will certainly check out who was still living there in 1901/1910 census' that you sent.

Thank you

Rachel's date of death varies a LOT. Death notice placed by only child, James Henry Robert Chisholm says she was 76yrs old. And the final ? is her headstone, clearly engraved with her being 88 years at death. Rachel and Walter were devoted Methodists and I just cannot imagine the headstone being wrong.
I think you mean either date of birth or age at death?
Being ‘devout Methodists’ has absolutely nothing to do with correct date on a headstone. Often they weren’t erected until a later date when memories were less clear.

I'm not sure how you go from the Graham family in Killaney townland to this Joseph Graham in Ballycarngannon. As you'll see from Ros Davies' site alone there are LOTS of Grahams in Killaney and several named Joseph around the same period.

History of Presbyterian churches in Boardmills-

Under Churches for Killaney Parish there are details of the churches including dates for registers-
http://rosdavies.com/PHOTOSwords/KillaneyAll.htm

Be aware that many Presbyterian families had burial plots in Church of Ireland graveyards so gravestones there should also be checked.

Would think that searching for baptisms & marriages in Boardmills might help prove or disprove connections.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thanks Aghadowey for your comments and information.
As stated earlier on this post, I am new to Irish records, geography and Counties.

Rachel had no date of birth on the headstone, just date of death and age. I have seen it.
And yes, dates can be troublesome. Walter, Rachel's husband was a lay preacher and well know in Avondale, Ak where they both died. Family legend was always that Rachel had not been truthful about her age. We can only imagine that family papers came to light after her death and hence the age on her headstone. I really doubt they would have left her headstone engraved with incorrect age.... but...

My initial information came from Ros Davies surname site where I found Joseph Graham b1807 as child of Thomas Graham and Margaret Dunn. Hallmark sent me the death details for Joseph and he died at Ballycarngannon, Drumbo, 5 July 1880 aged 73. I only had the death notice Belfast Newsletter and it said, died at his residence Boardmills.

Joseph had a brother Robert b 1809 (from Ros Davies) and he died Idaho 1893.

This memorial links his parents to Thomas Graham and Margaret Dunn. My DNA links to Robert's family in USA.

It's nearly midnight down under and I need to sleep. The information I have may not be perfect but this is the first time I have had anything really concrete to start with in Ireland.

I will be investigating all information given to me today.

Thank you

Penny
