Havnt been able to find the other two. After Thomas cant find them anywhere until we find Thomas marrying Ann Hunter 1837. I would really like to find Thomas & Eleanor. Thomas jnr went to Nz and was a weslyan. I havnt been able to find any more children for Eleanor & Thomas or their deaths. Very common names unfotunately thomas was born abt 1770 Ashby Lincolnshire and Eleanor Smith daughter Of Richard,  Houghton Lee spring Birth? Maybe they went out of the country or simply died. very strange thanks lnr

Penshaw All Saints:

John Cowper, born 20 Dec 1801, baptised 18 Apr 1802 1st son of Thomas Cowper, pitman, native of Flixbrough, Lancashire by his wife Eleanor Smith, native of Houghton Parish

Maybe they really meant Thomas was the third child instead of third son?  Or there could have been another son between John and Thomas that died before he was baptised.

hi I discounted this child as his father was a Thomas but ours was from lincolnshire. also had a daughter Elizabeth born 1797 dont know what happened to her either. maybe the person writing the baptisims up got the wrong Thomas COOPER married to Eleanor Smith Father Richard  Smith of Houghton. Thanks lnr

I own the parish record and looked it up otherwise I took it from a transcript.  Lancashire was spelled "Lonkershire"  the father was a husbandman.  Flixbrough is in North Lincolnshire.  I think Lonkershire could go either way.  Wonder how it was pronounced?  Both Flixbrough and Ashby are in North Lincolnshire and are fairly close to each other. Obviously whoever wrote in the parish record couldn't spell either one.

The son Thomas married Ann Hunter in 25 Aug 1830 in Bishopwearmouth.  They had one child baptised there Eleanor baptised 13 Oct 1833
