Tim Kelly Invincible from Dublin
« on: Wednesday 15 January 20 18:48 GMT (UK) »
Im looking for family information about Tim Kelly the Invincible. An anecdote about my grand uncle in late 1800s was that having deserted the British Army and before emigrating to the USA he stayed in Dublin with Kellys in Cabinteely because they were cousins of his wife who was a Clerkin from Monaghan. Of course it could be that he stayed with Clerkins in Cabinteely who were cousins of Kelly.
My family source has since died so I cant go back there.
Thanks

Thanks Heywood.
No other info except he was famous as one of The invincibles who assasinated the Lord Lieutenant in the Phoenix Park and was executed with the others involved. The small bit a read about him is that he was a young apprentice coach builder and was a choir member.
I checked also GV for that village but no Kelly as tenants. Of course it could be just a family myth.

Tim Kelly was hanged in 1883. Are you trying to find his family?
It is a bit confusing.
Was your grand uncle a Kelly? What was his name? What was the Clerkin lady called?
