Sep 1863
Hicks   Ruth      Bicester   3a   877
Perrott   William   Bicester   3a   877

This couple can be found on 1881 census

Piece:   2053 Folio:   44 Page Number:   1
William Perrott   40 Wiltshire Elementary Schoolmaster
Ruth Perrott   40 Bitton Gloucester, School mistress
Lelia Perrott   13 Great Billing Northamptonshire
Edith Perrott   10
Maud Perrott   7
Dora Perrott   4
Jessie Perrott   Younger Than 1

1871 census RG10; Piece: 1480; Folio: 11; Page: 16
gives Ruth’s pob Oldland Gloucester bn c 1840

I'm wondering if the above Ruth nee Hicks is the daughter of Daniel Hicks as on the 1851 census Ruth has a sister called Pamela.

The bpt. of William & Ruth PERROTT's daughter Lelia her middle name is Pamela

I definitely have my Ruth in 1841 and 1851 census with parents.

There is a possibly in 1861, as a servant at the vicarage, but that could be the other Ruth.

Not found this Ruth Hicks on 1871 census  :-\ so the question is has she married?

She can't be the Ruth Hicks that married in Australia as the marriage was in 1857
and if the
Ruth Hicks that married William Perrott in 1863 - a shame the marriage is not viewable on line to confirm if her father's name was Daniel.

Piece:   1698 Folio:   30 Page Number:   7
Bitton Village Vicarage
Henry N Ellacombe   39 Vicar of Bitton
Emily A Ellacombe   28
Isabella C Nicholsen   23
Willmott H W Ellacombe   7
Mary W Ellacombe   5
Agnes W Ellacombe   4
Isabella H Ellacombe   2
Frances A Ellacombe   92
Rosaline Frond   20
Esther Love   20
Lucinda Wills   19
Ruth Hicks   22 Bitton Gloucestershire, Nurse Domestic Servant
Sophia Sindrey   14
William Wathen   13

A very strong possibility the above Ruth might be yours.

I’ve ordered the 1863 marriage certificate to rule in or out.

I have wondered about Ruth who is the domestic servant in 1861 - but if this is her, what happened to her afterwards?

For the marriages in Gower, I’ve found Edward together with Ruth, but in 1871 her place of birth is in Wales, so she’s ruled out.

Australia: Mary Lewis, transportee, married Henry Brown - what happened to her?

It's a shame the 1865 marriage in Poplar to George Harding is not available to view on line (reply 13)
