Jack,
I don't know Georgina, but I can see that she might be the daughter in law of one of William and Jane's children.  I am only familiar with those in my own family line.  Might be nice to follow up.  If you can help me out with any of my previously listed queries, that would be fantastic.
Many thanks, Gillian.

Gillian

I can tell you that I found William and Catherine arrived in South Australia with 4 Children - 3 boys 1 daughter. I have a lot of information on the Mahoods, I was told that my Dads Family travelled from Kapunda SA where we were told they ran a hotel until they went broke, making their way to Cue in search of Gold. where my great grandad William (Bill) Mahood other wise know as Bebee by his grandsons.and his siblings James Wallace, Samuel Arthur, Sarah jane, Eliza, Mary Anne, Emily Ruth, Henry Bruce. married and lived. there is a routunder in Cue in honor of Samuel. he was a writer for murchison times.I did find Mary Anne and her husband's headstones at karrakatta cementry.

Hello I am a descendant of James Wallace Mahood who came on the Mary Dugdale in 1840 he married Margaret Orrock at Gawler in 1850 I have been to Warrnambool cemetery were James in buried the sections are clearly mark there is no headstone for James just as there is no headstone for Margaret and some of their children at the Melbourne General Cemetery I have also been to Moculta 2 times. William Mahood who died 1901 Cue appears to have gone to Broken Hill before going to W.A. as Eliza married 1893 Sarah Jane married 1895 and Mary Ann married 1896 in Broken Hill 2 of his sons William and James Wallace served in the Boer War. -  Samuel Arthur died in 1934 it seems his wife Maude Ethel Christie remarried to George Meyer, Maude died 1963 buried Geelong Cemetery. There are a few headstone photo's and grave information on Find a Grave. I have been adding Mahood's to the Australian Cemetery Index this site has a family tree which makes it easier to see how everyone is connected.
As for back in Ireland McWhidd is the Caelic spelling Alexander McWhidd 1610-1690 was a protestant minister (from Scotland?)  buried beside the ruins of Knockbride parish church Pottle his son John 1661-1730 was presented a gold and amber seal with his initials J.M. by William of Orange (King) for his service in the 1690 battle of Boyne. Any Idea's
