tv message
« on: Tuesday 07 January 20 12:23 GMT (UK) »
have a tv set up with dvd.  Suddenly all recorded or live programmes keep getting the signal 'new programmes added'  I have retuned etc. but cannot get rid of it.  It flashes up every few seconds, then goes off but keeps coming back.  Any ideas anyone?

Have you tried searching for that message along with the name of the equipment model? Failing all that have you looked in the manual? If you don't have a paper one you could probably find one on the internet.

Do you have  Freeview? I am just thinking that the TV model/manual would not be helpful as I don’t think that is the problem. We get that message on a tv which receives Freeview through an aerial.

There is advice here and a telephone number for assistance.

I hope you solve the problem.

I agree, it is unlikely to be the actual tv but the freeview part, which I presume is built in rather than a separate box? Many TVs and set top boxes have menu options to stop messages like that from being displayed. Check to see if you can find anything like that, might be in settings.

Thank you for the link and advice.  Will keep for future ref.

Re-tuned via the dtr last night and it seems to have got rid of the message.  Fingers crossed.

Currently some freeview channels have had their alocated channel numbers changed plus some have discontinued broadcasting.
I periodically check (this is after an onscreen message appears) to see and update channel list.
