Ancestry common ancestor anomaly

I have an Ancestry.com common ancestor which I just cannot work out. He's pretty distant at only 7cM across 1 segment but I've managed to link others at a similar level...

For this one, our common ancestor is suppose to be my 4 x Great grandmother Sarah Roberts. In my tree she's born in Suffolk and married to James Layzell. The link to my common ancestor is via serveral non-DNA trees that list her has born in Woolwich and married to Henry Tyer. The dates overlap so I don't think it's a case of her being widowed and remarrying so what gives? Is this just a coincidental DNA match or is one of our trees very wrong?

Have you clicked on the Evaluate tab when you bring up the link?  Amazon seems to try various trees on their site when they don't find a common ancestor between you and the match.

Sorry, I didn't explain it very well. The Evaluate list is where I can see all the other trees with Sarah Roberts of Woolwich.

There are lots of anomalies identified.  I have some that Ancestry have identified as having a common ancestor but I can see no connection whatsoever. They just seem to search other trees without any real logic  :-\

This is especially the case with low cMs. I think my oddities are in the 6-9cM range.

It should just appear on your DNA matches page, but you'll only be able to see who the common ancestors are if you have an active/paid subscription.

DNA > Matches > Filters > Common Ancestors

Is the easiest way.
