Some strong similarities between the two. Where is/was Shawlands Academy? I wish I knew where he was educated - nothing known before work & Glasgow School of Art but lived in Cambuslang from birth in 1904 until 1929 when he moved south of the border.

Shawlands Academy is in Glasgow, just about two miles west of Rutherglen and Cambuslang is a further two miles away.  I have checked all of the major rugby teams around 1922 and none seem to fit with SA.
