I’m doing research into the Martin Family from Hollymount, Downpatrick.
My GG grandmother was Sarah Martin ( no DOB ).
She had a son David b 6 April 1875,Woodgrange, Hollymount, Downpatrick, no father listed on birth records.
David married Eliza Cochrane 14 May 1895. Eliza died 13 July 1902, they had no children.
David remarried in June 1903 to Margaret Ann Maginnis. David and Margaret Ann had 6 children
William James ( my grandfather ) b 12 June 1904
Alexander b 22 Nov 1905 d 18 Jan 1906
John b 16 July 1907 d 2 Dec 1907
Sarah b 22 June 1908
David b 2 Feb 1910
Jeannie b 13 Oct 1914.
On both of David’s marriage certificates it states John Ferris as father.
I’m trying to find out more on Sarah my GG grandmother, did she marry John Ferris or did she marry someone else, I’ve searched marriage records but can find nothing.
I did my DNA November 2018 but hasn’t really helped with information on the Martin family. I did find out that David b 2 Feb 1910 married a cousin Ellen Neill Killyleagh, her mother was Anna Maria Martin b 17 Jan 1870 in Hollymount, Downpatrick and Anna’s father a John Martin b about 1843.
