Prosser family 1871 newport Mon
« on: Saturday 20 August 05 12:23 BST (UK) »
Can someone help, please. I have manged to trace a family member called David Prosser born  Newport abt 1841, married Elizabeth? born London Middlesex abt 1844/45. One son John H born abt 1865 in London Middlesex, another son Tom morris orn newport abt1870, daughters Elizabet F born abt 1866, Annie M born abt 1875 and Mary M born abt 1877. Can find family apart from David in censuses 1881-1901 living at Caerau Road Newport but no trace of any of them in 1871 online census resources!!! Where have they gone in 1871???
Some records on Ancestry.co.uk show death of a David Prosser in Newport earlier than the birth of the last two children!!!!!
I live abroad so research is not too easy but if any one can check out the 1871 monmouthshire census to try and find this family i should be very grateful.
Thanks-in anticipation

I have the 1841 census for Brecon st Johns showing the family of David & Ann Prosser, if you want it you will have to send me an email.

David Prosser married Ann Lewis at St Johns Brecon 25.10.1807

On the 1841 census living with David & Ann Prosser is an 85 yr old Edward Lewis who may be her father as they did have a son Edward, unfortunately David Prosser the bulder is not with them. he is in Newport if he married in 1840.
