Evans had been stationed at Groomsport, rated Commissioned Boatman, since the 22 Dec 1839 and retired on 24 March 1849.

Many thanks for the information. I have not been able to find him on the 1841 Census yet. Any help here would be appreciated. This is were his daughter Emma Harriet Evans must have met and then married Robert Cooper.

I'm afraid there is no surviving 1841 or any other census' for Ireland.
