I do not have a paid for subscription.

Still exploring - but can see DNA matches, chromosome browser plus applied for AutoClusters, which was enabled within about an hour.

Don't know about Bearkat, but I have never had a subscription with Myheritage.

I transferred my husband's and my own DNA there a couple of years ago, have always been able to access our ethnicity estimates and use the tools (as updated) - view all matches, compare all matches one by one or several together using chromosome browser, send messages, view trees of DNA matches, Auto cluster reports etc. These were continued for free after they started charging, as they promised.

My cousin's results I uploaded this year, and was severely restricted in what I could do, but didn't think it worthwhile to pay extra to use the tools for his results.

Having uploaded his again, I do now have access.

If this upload doesn't work for you, Martin, for whatever reason, I strongly suggest that you pay the upgrade fee to use these tools.

Subscription fees and upgrade charges are not the same thing, subscription gives you access to the whole site, records, trees etc, the upgrade charges is purely for DNA.

It's a busy time of year so I haven't had much time to spend on the site but so far I've been impressed.

Everything was processed quickly and the tools look great.

I don’t have any experience with Ancestry DNA tests, so am unable to compare, but I uploaded my raw data a couple of years ago when it was free to do so and find MyHeritage tools very good and easy to use.

Most of my good matches to date have come via this site.

When they first introduced the charges, I uploaded my father’s raw data about a week too late to get free access to all their tools, which was a bit frustrating at the time, but feel that paying to use all their tools was well worth the cost.

I tried (for 2 days) to take advantage of the offer but kept getting error messages that my email address already linked to an account (no account and tried my 3 different email addresses so finally opened a brand new email account but got same error message) so gave up. Following day they sent me email saying they'd had a glitch but should be working now.
Uploaded 2 of the accounts I managed and waiting for 3rd one to upload (any minute now).
My DNA got over 8,000 matches, I contacted 4 people and got 2 responses right away (one a twice 4th cousin and other 3rd cousin). Of the other two, one is a 2nd cousin I can get hold of anyway and last one is a SURPRISE!
For years I've been tracing my great-grandmother's family with a fairly uncommon surname and have extensive details on them especially her 3 uncles and 1 aunt who left Ireland and settled in Michigan (via Canada). Time after time I came across another family in opposite end of Michigan with same surname that also originated in Ireland. Now, according to DNA, it turns out that we seem to be related which means I'll eventually be able to add pages more to family tree.
Without a paid membership to the site I'm able to view matches, filter them in various ways and make contact. So far, so good.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Right, I'm having a play with My Heritage this afternoon.

I'm adding to my family tree.  The site seems very keen that I should add other trees to mine.  Is there any way to just add the people I want?  I can cancel the Instant Discoveries (never to see them again) but can I ignore them??

Your help would be appreciated.  :)

I've never had a paid subscription to this Site, but uploaded (from Ancestry) when it was still free to do so.

I managed to persuade several of my matches from Ancestry to upload during the 'gratis week'; which has been interesting.

Bearkat, - I did put a Tree up on MH, - but I kept getting messages from them saying that if it got bigger, I'd have to subscribe, - and so I've taken it off now.

Romilly.

I had a tree on MyHeritage that was too big, always had warning notices when I logged in. I have now deleted it and started a smaller direct line one, which is so far OK with them
