Hi Can someone help with the maiden name of the mother on this extract from a marriage certificate. I just cannot work this one out.

I would read her maiden name as Helm.

I agree-does look like HELM.

Could you tell us the names of the bride and groom-date of marriage-where found before or after...
all that good stuff. ;)

There's this marriage on SP:

This is the full document. I read Helm but couldn't find any marriage with that name

Definitely M. S. Helm for me. Compare the 'e' with 'After', 'Witness' and various others; and the 'm' with 'journeyman'.

Not seeing anything suitable on the 1871 in that location.
