I would like to find a record of an Inquest held on 28th September 1861 for Richard Nichols who died 27th September 1861 at St Leonard’s on Sea Hastings. Can anyone suggest where I would be able to find it.

Hi
Hastings is in East Sussex - not Somerset - so will ask moderator to move your post.
Have you tried contacting the East Sussex Records Office to find whether that info is available?

If there are any records the local Record Office will know what is available, however very few records exist from the 19th century, a local newspaper report is your best bet.

Surviving locally held material is in the East Sussex Record Office.
