Thanks, much appreciated. How were you able to find mothers maiden name from birth records? FreeBMD says this wasn't included on birth records until 1911

The record has mmn, but the indexes didn’t until 1911, which is what the freeBMD work from. GRO data is from the certificates, hence can capture more info. Hope that clarifies things.

I have aDNA connection with someone who has Elizabeth Owens b1810 Chester who married Thomas Youd b 1802 Flint
So  we are probably distantly related thru them
I.ll see if I can work out the connection.
