Kent Lunatic Asylum - BECKFORD

David Beckford died on 20 Nov 1868 at Maidstone, St Peter.  His residence is stated as being Kent Lunatic Asylum.  I would like to confirm that he was born circa 1801 probably in Kent.  This seems odd as his wife Caroline Bailey was born circa 1830 in Chiselhurst, Kent.  Perhaps she was his 2nd wife - I don't know.  I was wondering if the Asylum would have details of when he entered the asylum and how old he was.

I would appreciate any help on this.

The death would match this

Mitcham, Surrey
Parents William & Ann

Possible marriage in 1824 at St George the Martyr, Southwark

Using GRO facility - December 1868 death registration - Maidstone District - for David says he was aged 67.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

The 1851 census looks promising, especially as he was unmarried.  I just can't find him on the 1861 census.

Thanks for your replies.  His marriage date to Caroline of 1864 presents another puzzle.  His firstborn - a daughter, Eliza Hannah Dean Beckford was born in 1853.
His son William Thomas Skinner Beckford was born in 1866.

His Burial on November 20th 1868 is shown as being in" Consecrated ground of the Maidstone Cemetery."
The majority of the burials shown there are for deaths from the Kent Lunatic Asylum.
