Can you find a record with a bad link on irishgenealogy.ie?
« on: Thursday 31 October 19 08:11 GMT (UK) »
Is there a way to find a civil record that is in the index at https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/, when the link does not go to the correct record?

Thank you,
Ed H.

I usually do, but I thought I read somewhere that you could track down the image somehow.

Do you know how fast they actually fix them? I haven't ever gone back to check.

I have no idea. I have never reported any issues on that site.

You can find the correct image sometimes quite easily sometimes it a real drag.

If it's linking to the correct Reg district  the correct image might be on a nearby page.
By changing the last digit of the address you can move up and down the pages.

If it's linking to the wrong district than find a birth that's in the correct district and have a look through the pages.

There is a tool for looking through the pages but it doesn't get the second or third etc image on those results that have more than one image.

I just go see if I can find it.

This explains how to use it and has a link to the tool

Added I've had some problems using this tool on some browsers, rather than just opening the image it now sometimes wants to do the whole robot and sign in etc. but you should get there in the end.

Thank you very much. I think that is what I remember reading or finding a while ago. This time I will save it in my notes.

I have tried manually going through them as you also suggested, but was never successful, so I thought I might going at it the wrong way. Also, I did end up in another registration district one time, and just gave up on that one.

Thanks again,
Ed H.

It can help to look it up on FamilySearch, you'll get the page number.
Don't think it's possible to tell what Vol your looking at on the images but sometimes you can see the page numbers, find the page and hopefully it's the right Vol as well.
