The marriage of George an Alice gives his birth year as 1846, I see only one fit for him on Family Search 1851 census:

I know the George above is not John George, but his middle name may have been John. He arrived here under the name of George and was married as George. Only his death has him as John George.

I wonder if he had other members of his family come out, also.

I see no Margaret Carty and only one Mary, close to her stated birth date:

re death transcription of Mary. I probably will, having thoughts about it. Have asked agent to check if Alice Hawker could be Alice Harker and then I would be on the right track with the first spouse and Mary's death should have her maiden name!! The person I am researching for is not at all interested in the bits and pieces found, just wants a direct line, not like us real genes who have to know the whole family!!
