No luck with Find My Past nor The British Newspaper Archive for Montgomeryshire which only has pages up until 1909 at present so I'll have to be patient. Thanks again M.

I have recently been communicating with a woman in Llanfyllin who actually knew our Edward Horrocks and family at the New Inn, Llanfyllin (which he and his family must have purchased after 1939 when they owned the Cambrian Inn). She was also able to confirm that the owner of the White Lion Hotel in Market Street Llanfyllin in the 1950's was Henry (Harry) Wallwork, Edward Horrock's half brother who probably bought it to be closer to his older brother and family. I think we can happily say that the mystery is solved!

Thank you for letting us know.
That is a nice tidy end to the puzzle, which is always satisfying!
