Wichita memorial park cemetery
« on: Wednesday 16 October 19 14:52 BST (UK) »
I wonder could someone help .I've been searching for years for my two uncles who were sent to Canada from Scotland as orphans in 1913.The elder brother Andrew Symington crossed the border to the US in 1921. I have two photos of him on a farm in Oklahoma I can find no more of him there.I have come across a burial for an Andrew Symington that took place in 1928 in the wichita memorial  park  cemetery. I can't obtain a death  certificate as I have no exact death date of death .I'm hoping that someone out there can find the death date for me

There is an Andrew W. Symington in the 1928 Wichita, KS city directory.  He was a manager of Ideal Cafe and resided at 124 S. Emporium Av.  No Symingtons in the 1929 Wichita directory.

Do you have a date/year of birth for your guy?

There are previous threads about this guy.  It's best to let us know what you've already found, so we don't duplicate past efforts.

Kansas will do a 5 year search if you request the certificate by mail. That should find the man who was buried in Wichita in 1928 -- if he died in Kansas.

"The cost is $15.00 for the first copy and $15.00 for each additional copy of the same record ordered at the same time. By state law, the initial $15.00 fee for a certified copy of a death certificate is a five-year record search fee – one certified copy is issued if the record is found and if not found, the fee is retained. Payment can be a check or money order made payable to "Kansas Vital Statistics."

I didn't look through the website to see if you had to be a descendant to get the certificate.

This page covers genealogical requests.  http://www.kdheks.gov/vital/genealogy.html  It says, "Pre-1940 records may be requested by an individual related as at least a cousin."  It's not really clear what that covers.

Have you contacted the cemetery to see if they have further information?  Or the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to see if they can search a wider time frame?
