Mountain Ash
« on: Wednesday 16 October 19 14:41 BST (UK) »
I am planning to visit Mountain Ash and surrounding area in a few weeks time.  My great grandparents lived there in the late 1800s and early 1900s.  I know it is probably very optimistic to think I might be able to find where they are buried but I would like to try.  I have found a newspaper report of my gr grandfather's funeral which suggests he was buried in Caegarw Cemetery in 1917.  His wife died in 1915 so I guess she is probably there too.  Does anyone know anything about the cemetery please - is it enormous?  Is there any way of finding out where they were buried?  Any hints of good places to go to learn about history of this area?  (I did find a phone number on the council website for cemeteries but have a phone phobia and would rather email if at all possible!)  Thanks
