Hi LM
Ah, so Thompson ties in.
We have Chas Granath on ancestry in London, England, Selected Poor Law Removal and Settlement Records, 1698-1930.

This is Shoreditch in 1906. It says he was taken out (from where exactly I don't know) by his grandmother, 67 Byron Rd, Hoe St, Walthamstow

That is the address on the burial of his sister Lilian at Chingford Mount in 1907.
Walthamstow directory for 1905 is on ancestry (London, England, City Directories, 1736-1943)
Image 211 has Byron Road with a Mrs Thompson at number 67.

The 1907 directory on ancestry (if you have uk ancestry is here) has Thomas Loader listed at 67 Byron (image 222)

Hi
Good luck to you both at the clinic.

Not sure that we can dig up very much more now. As you say, it's really a wait for the 1921 census to be released - you should at least get hold of Charles junior in that, hopefully in Norfolk.

Thank you John, results a chest  infection, not a word about the virus, in fact Dr hardly said a word, given him antibiotics and sent him off to the local hospital for an x-ray, worrying times

You have done  some fantastic digging John, huge thanks

Quite by accident trying to close loose ends I have found a baptism for Charles born 1906, he was baptised in Norfolk 1921, occ shown as silversmith? aged 15, at 15 a silversmith?, he was living as a border with a family, his mother died a few days after his birth and his father, probably distraught at having his wife and 2 of his children die just disappeared, between 1912 and 1921 this lad is a mystery, I did find him on 1939 and his death , so I suppose that is all I can find on this youngster

Charles is in Watlington in the 1921 census. Did he have an occupation, or at school?
There are a lot of question marks on that baptism record!
(Born) 18 March 1907 (?)
Parents names  ? Graneth
Abode Watlington (from Holborn)
Quality, Trade, or Profession Silversmith (?)

I think it's a stab at what Charles' father did for a living. Perhaps Charles thought he was a silversmith.

I have his father right up to the time he seems to have just vanished,
Charles is  GRANATH,  it is Swedish
Date of birth right, or might be 1906
He was born in London,  so that is right
 15 surely not he wasn't a silversmith
He was a border in Watlington
1939 he was a farm labourer
He was on 1911 and I think he went off to a school, between 1911 and 1921 he is a mystery
Charles mother died 2 weeks after he was born,  I doubt this poor lad ever saw his father
I know this is him, I know every Granath born to my gt grandfather and have traced them all, Charles and his father have been my brick walls, never found his father after about 1910  ish
Thank you John, it was you I think you  said he was in Norfolk .
