Hi All
Now established that Great Uncle Joseph William Robinson born 1904, Aston Birmingham, went to Canada on the Antonia ship in June 1922 as a British Home Child
Worked on farm in Tottenham, Simcoe, Ontario for a Thomas Best from 1923 (
http://heritage.canadiana.ca/.../oocihm.lac_reel.../2675...) to at least 1940 (1940 National Registration - similar to the 1939 English& Wels register pre WW2).
I know he was single and he intimated he wanted training as a radio operator in said 1940 registration possibly in lieu of joining the Army.
So some questions: what records available to prove
* if he joined Army?
* if yes:
** Did he return to Canada after WW2?
** Did he die in Canada
** Does a Best farm still exist in Tottenham, Simcoe, Ontario
Any assistance gratefully accepted
Some additional info in earlier posts
Regards
Martin
