These are almost certainly the 1914 Star or the 1914/1915 Star, the British War Medal and the Victory Medal, info here:
https://www.longlongtrail.co.uk/soldiers/how-to-research-a-soldier/campaign-medal-records/the-british-campaign-medals-for-the-great-war/

The Star should have his regiment and number on the back, the other two have it impressed around the rim.  This info can tell us a bit more - are you able to see the medals?

There are not many Joseph Winns on the 1914-15 Star medal roll. This could be Private Joseph Winn, 399339 Labour Corps, 16498 KOSB.

Shaun, Unfortunately I don't think Joseph Winn 399339 is the right man  :-\
WWI Pension Ledgers and Index Cards, 1914-1923 transcript has this man as a resident of Grimsby, born in 1889.
Robbins - Wolverhampton.
Spooner - Monmouthshire & Wolverhampton.
Warner & Loundes - Dudley/West Bromwich.
Dod(g)son - Heysham/Liverpool/Wolverhampton

Joseph

You have started another thread for James Walker which is fair enough but do you have any answer about the engraving on Joseph Winn's medals?

A pity, they would have told us the regiment so I don't think we are going to be able to identify him.

The story with James seems to be similar to that of Joseph, no service record that can be positively identified as his.  Again, a number of james Walker medal records, also unidentifiable.  Frustrating I know but the odds are always against finding a Great war service record.  Do you have any other family clues that might help?
