Ann Ey clarification of information

Good evening
I’m not sure where to post this so have placed it in the common room.
Ann Ey is my 3x great grandmother born 21/6/1806 baptised 3/7/1806. She was born in the Holborn Lying in wait hospital Endell Street. Parents John and Jane Ey. The records can be viewed on findmypast and ancestry. It is a non conformist baptism. My issue is when I put the information into findmypast it comes up with three records. Two are the baptism entry. The third gives additional information and covers Hanover Germany. I would like someone else to look at the record for me and confirm is it Ann who was born in Hanover or her parents as this is not clear on the document.
I will try and post a snip it of the information tomorrow if required.

I cannot see the Hanover Germany entry you mention, but there is also a marriage for an Ann Ey in St Margaret Westminster in 1839 to a James Sawyer.

now seen the birth reg you mean which says
Birth place as transcribed   Hanover Germany

Do you have her on a census to confirm?


Added:  to actually answer your question, I believe the fact that in the baptism register the wording is as I note above, it would suggest that Ann herself was born in Germany.

Yes that the right entry. She gives her birth place on the 1851 census as St James Westminster. Which if it is true could mean her mother was born in Germany. Her Father John Christian Ey died in 1841. I am trying to find out her mothers name and a marriage for her parents.

Looking at all the census records I have her place of birth ranges from London not known, Middlesex and Ashford Kent. I think it is a case of no one knew for certain and put a basic answer in.

There is an image of the birth ref mentioning Germany on Ancestry

It is listed under the column headed "Settlement"


Sorry, again added -

This seems to be a record of mother Jane's entry into the Lying In hospital.  So the Hanover would refer to her - not the baby. She is shown as aged 29, and husband John a 'Taylor"

I recently started researching this line again and just found this thread.

I have never been able to trace the birth of John Christian or his marriage to Jane, so have wondered if he could have been born outside the UK. Being a mariner, that would not have been unlikely.

I have found 6 children of John and Jane, apparently all born in the Holborn Lying-in Hospital. The first 4 seem to have been non-conformist baptisms, but the last 2 were at St Mary-le Bone Parish Church.

After the last one in 1819, there is a gap of 5 years before what would seem to be a 7th child: John Christian - mother Sarah - also baptised at St Mary-le Bone Parish Church.

Did you ever find any more information on this line? I've tried many times to locate their marriage and where they were born.
