No - when there was a double 's' involving a long 's', the long 's' came first, which is why it sometimes looked like a 'p'.
In this case there's what looks like a 'p', but there's fairly clearly an 's' before it as well. I don't think we're looking at Esssie - and if there were a long 's', I suspect it would be the first in the group rather than the middle one.
