Have you looked for him on the various censuses which are free to search yourself @ www.familysearch.org

Any marriage can be searched for @ www.freebmd.org.uk

If you have found his birth reg - use that info to look for his mothers maiden name at

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/Login.asp  - registration is free

When you have his mmn - use freebmd to look for his parents marriage

Going over the older topics on your search for your David MORGAN,

   • Who stated in 1859, that he was born in St George, Middlesex
   • Who attested to the Army, as a Boy, aged 14 years in October 1859.
   • Who gave his father's name as David MORGAN, Mariner, on his 1879 Marriage in Galway.
   • Who stated pretty consistently in Census that he was born 1844-46 in London, Middlesex
   • Whos name is recorded on his death certificate as David Ebenezer MORGAN, aged 68 in 1912, Eastbourne, Sussex.

It would seem pretty hard to go past the following son born 1847 of the following couple, that you already know about:

MARRIAGE: On 10 Feb 1846 at Parish Church of Limehouse, Middlesex.
David Morgan Morris, full age, widower, Mariner, of Limehouse. Father: William Morgan Morris, dec'd
Martha Newell, full age, Spinster, of Limehouse. Father: Richard Newell, dec'd.
Witness: Harry -------, Mary -------------.

BIRTH 1847: Ebenezer David MORGANS, GRO registered Dec 1847 Stepney Middlesex, mms: NEWELL

BAPTISM 1850:
Born 1st Oct 1847, baptised 16th Dec 1850 at: Parish Church of St Mary in St George of the East, Middlesex
David Ebenezer, son of David & Martha MORGAN MORRISS.
Abode: 25 Hardinge Street. Father's Occupation: Mariner

CENSUS 1851:
At 25 Hardinge Street, St George in the East, Middlesex
Head: David MORRIS 55, Mariner, b Pembroke (abt 1796)
Wife: Martha MORRIS 41,  Deptford Kent (abt 1810)
Son: Ebenezer David MORRIS, 4, b Ratcliffe, Middlesex.

And that the search is no so much for your David , as for his named parents?

_____________________________________________________________________

Regards the David Ebenezer MORGANS birth registered MQ  1848 in Aberystwith district.. Which has also been raised in the past.

The GRO states his mms is:  RICHARDS.

There are other MORGAN(S) births mms RICHARDS in that District , including a William 1850 and a Thomas 1851, but haven't unearthed any records that say who their parents are, nor who David Ebenezer's are.

There is the following:

CENSUS 1851: at Treddol, Llancynfelin, Cardiganshire (in the Aberystwith district)
Head: Harriet MORGANS 27, married, miner's wife
Son: David 4, miner's son
Son: William 1, miner's son
All born: County of Cardigan

All the topics prior, come back to pretty much the same conclusions, suggestions and information....

It does look like you'll need to get the birth certificate to be able to proceed with identifying this David Ebenezer MORGANS of  Aberystwith.

Cheers

I am in the process of trying to untangle the Morgans of Cardiganshire!
I believe this David Ebenezer Morgan(s) is a grandson of Hugh Morgan of Ty Hir. Hugh and friends bought methodism to Ystumtuen - starting with the Ebenezer chapel. He had a lot of children, and he made his future son in laws also take the surname of Morgan (I have this fact in writing) which makes it quite hard to disect! All of these children had many children - and they all used the same names! So there are multiple John, Hugh, David, Evan, Ebenezer, Ann and Margaret Morgans everywhere you look in the wider Ponterwyd area.
Considering how many damn Morgans there are, I was hopeful someone else had already taken on this task, but no such luck as yet!

I've got back to David Morgan and Jane Daniel who were married in Llandewi brefi in 1796.

The reuse of a limited number of first names make research very difficult!
