John James McIver b.1913
« on: Friday 06 September 19 17:11 BST (UK) »
Would someone be kind enough to look for baptism of John James McIver, registered last quarter of 1913 Lanchester District. His parents - John James and Barbara Ann - were living at Tantobie in 1911 so possibly baptised at Tanfield.

Thanks in advance.

I see on Tyne and Wear Archives Users Guides that they have a St Margaret, Tanfield with baptisms going up to 1915.

I will fit this baptism look up in for you on my way home from one of my nightshifts in the next few weeks.  You will likely have to wait no longer than three weeks for me to be able to do this look up and let you know if there was a baptism there for John.

Did John and Barbara marry in Tynemouth registration district?  If so,Marriage Locator suggests marriage was between two Churches:

http://www.marriage-locator.co.uk/cgi-bin/ML_search.cgi?year=1907&qtr=4&vol=10b&page=459&search=search

I wonder if this might have taken place at St Luke, Wallsend?

Hi River Tyne Lass,  Yes the marriage was in 1907 but I was unaware of the marriage locator website. I think you are probably right that the marriage was at St. Luke as I've never had any indication of Roman Catholic faith in the family.  Many thanks.
