Do you have any further information on him such as his parents names? Im not finding a birth for him in NSW bmd. When and where did he die?

Hi Giblet he died in Bulawayo in 1939 aged 62 it states born Pembroke South Wales but I can't find any Rushtons born there in that decade so I was looking st the possibility of it being NSW instead.  No other info at all.

Hi,

I have checked my papercopy of NSW electoral roll for 1878, for THE HASTINGS, covering the extensive Wauchope - Port Macquarie area and I have NOT found anyone with the surname RUSHTON on either of them.  It was not compulsory to vote, but Males who were British Subjects aged 21 and over and residing in the district/area were eligible to enrol.     The rolls are in alphabetical order by surname within each of the Police Districts in that electorate,  so I checked through the 'R's  for possible spelling variations ...

As far as I am aware this is the guy died 1939 apart from this record he is a compete ghost.

I have just eliminated this as I have found the family in 1881 without Harold but will post the information anyway. 1881-RG9/4590 f8 p10 in case anyone else was looking at following the same route.

Looking at English census for surname Rushton in Pembroke, Wales there is just this one.

1871 Pembroke
Staying with her parents Samuel & Sarah Kingdom is Ann Rushton age 27 (1844) and her children Charles age 2 born Jamaica, West Indies and Elizabeth age 3 months born Nova Scotia.
Annie Kingdom married Charles Rushton in 1863, Pembroke RD

Could this be Harolds mother and siblings with children being born abroad.

The British armed forces birth registration index has Charles S Rushton born 1868 - regiment of father 84th.
