Parish records, Islandmagee
« on: Thursday 18 August 05 02:25 BST (UK) »
Greatgrandfather Hugh Bradford was, according to his death certificate(Queensland Aus.), born in Islandmagee. Date - approx 1812.  Are there parish records existing for the early 1800s?

Hugh was maried in the 1st Islandmagee on 24th January 1839. His parents were Hugh Bradford and Fanny Hill. Hugh Snr was a farmer in Ballydown, earliest reference I have is 1823. Hugh and Fanny are both buried in Ballypriormore graveyard. Would appreciate any information that fills out Hugh Snr's story.

Thanks,

Rosndel

Dont know if this will be any help in finding descendants but ........

I have transcribed the 1911 Census for Islandmagee, County Antrim. There are very many mistakes Transcribing the National Archives Dublin, although it was good to have what was done.

I have corrected most of the mistakes, although there were a few which I just could not make out what they were. The detail is on an EXCEL worksheet and takes about a minute or so to load. There is a link to download a viewer for those who do not have EXCEL installed on their computer. The link to my website :-

Good luck
