Poldark!!! Never watched it. One of the books was quite enough for me.... but then I don't like historical romantic fiction. Thanks, think the Radio Times has got it right.
Threlfall (Southport), Isherwood (lancs & Canada), Newbould + Topliss(Derby), Keating & Cummins (Ireland + lancs), Fisher, Strong& Casson (all Cumberland) & Downie & Bowie, Linlithgow area Scotland . Also interested in Leigh& Burrows,(Lancashire) Griffiths (Shropshire & lancs), Leaver (Lancs/Yorks) & Anderson(Cumberland and very elusive)

Absolutely LOVE Ross Poldark,in fact I've loved it since the beginning 43 years ago.
So much so that I named my son Ross  ;D

So very sad that tomorrow's is the last episode ever  :'(

*Does he look like Aidan Turner?  ;D

(I love this (new) series - having not seen the old series nor read the books, am excited to see this double episode to see what happens. Sad it will be the last!)

To return to the topic ... I always follow the WDYTYA threads. Living in Australia, I haven't seen any of this new series yet but am interested to see what I am in for when I eventually see them.  :)

LOVE Poldark - and Aidan Turner of course!  Thankfully I can (surreptitiously) access BBC iPlayer to see the series.  Otherwise I would have to wait until October to see it here in Canada.

I also saw the original Poldark back in the '70's (?) but never read any of the books.

Also looking forward to catching the next WDYTYA on Wednesday.  Thanks for the heads up.

I first fell for Aiden Turner when he was in a BBC series called Being Human. He played a vampire; Russell Tovey was a werewolf and there was also a ghost - they all lived together. I know - it sounds dreadful but it was actually extremely good, if rather gory.

If you Aiden fans haven't already discovered this, take a look. I think you'll enjoy it.

Baptism nowhere to be found. Possibly in a nonconformist church near ALMONDBURY or HUDDERSFIELD.

Looks interesting Jillruss.  :)
(the blouse/hair combination in Poldark is what appeals to me.  ;))

Looking forward to seeing Paul Merton on WDYTYA, but fed up with the constant moving of programmmes on Bank Holidays.

I read the books years ago and saw the series starring Robin Ellis as Ross, but there is also a film with John Bowe as Ross and Mel Martin as Demelza.
