Kersey or Kearsey of Swords Co.Dublin
« on: Wednesday 21 August 19 21:05 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I am looking for information on the Kersey/Kearsey family from Swords, Dublin.  My gg grandmother Eliza Kearsey married Michael McGrane in 1874 Balrothery, Ireland.  Her father is listed as William Kersey on the marriage cert occupation Labourer. There is a William Kersey of swords who married a Jane Russell in 1844.  I found an Eliza Kersey born in Swords Jul 1852 to William and Jane HUGHES?  (I wonder is this Jane Hughes the same as Jane Russell  ???) .

Any information on the Kersey/Kearsey's of Swords is much appreciated.

Thanks  ;)

I did a Search on

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp

which is the Irish Government BDM website  for Kersey  Balrothery District

which gave 3 results as per attachment.

" Eliza Kearsey married Michael McGrane in 1874 ..."

No sign of a Reg for it in Balrothery

One can try a search  on https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp  entering Kearsey  with no district and using  1873 to 1875 and tick marriage box

....or widen year range to look for siblings marrying

The Irish Government BDM website

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp

has 3 stages to it as per attachment

Those with Returns Page No  don't have Images yet but one can check back every now and then to see if any have been updated even once every 6 months!

If one knows the names from a Marriage e.g.  "about 1870"  just put Name in, Tick Marriage box and use Year Range 1868 to 1872  leaving District  blank if unknown!

The Captcha and Sign in page are all part of process the Irish Government BDM website and do not take anyone to any other website!
