John Frederick Butler
« on: Wednesday 21 August 19 20:36 BST (UK) »
Looking for help trying to trace John Frederick Butler.  I have very little information.  He would have been born around 1900 and married Ellen Lee in St Pancras in 1929, they had a child Helen in February 1930, His occupation at the time was a boot and shoe salesman.  They were divorced around 1932 and the divorce was registered at Marylebone Court.
Any help would be appreciated.

Was his father’s name and occupation on the marriage certificate?

I haven't got the marriage certificate at the moment - have ordered it and waiting for it to arrive.

I believe he was born around then as Ellen Lee was born in 1908.

I've found John Frederick and Ellen on the 1931 electoral register at 34 St Thomas' Gardens

There's then a John Frederick living at 72 Grafton Road (also Camden/Pancras) in 1932 & 33 with a number of other Butlers including Daniel, Frederick, Kate Edith and Sidney Edward

Kate Edith is at the same address in 1918 (so over 30 yrs old)  with Frederick (marked as "a"  - so absent fighting?)

Leads back to this 1911 entry - making John a bit younger than you thought

Oh that makes life even more complicated! Their daughter states that his middle name was Frederick but she doesn't have any other details apart from going to get maintenance at Marylebone Court and the number was 1713.

Thanks so much Mabel, Grafton Road is definitely right.  Never heard of the other Butlers so will look into that straight away.  Appreciate your help.
