So the Cecil Roy ARMSTRONG who enlisted in the AIF was born in  Bombala, New South Wales, Australia and was aged 19 years i months when he enlisted in February 1915.

Have we the 'right' Cecil Roy .... afterall our OP thought he and his wife Mary had come to Australia from overseas ....

I see JJ is concerned about if we have 'right' chap  too ...

There is a Mr Cecil ARMSTRONG arriving from London per the Orama in April 1928, for Adelaide (no others for Adelaide surnamed Armstrong on that voyage.

http://soda.naa.gov.au/record/1000657/1

On the other hand, there is a submitted tree, perhaps attributed to our OP, with Kenneth Vincent ARMSTRONG's death 17 December 2003, Meadowbrook with parents as Cesar Roy ARMSTRONG, 1896-1968... with Cesar Roy's birth as Bombala, 1896, son of William Armstrong, 1874-1938 and Sophia Whittaker 1874-1917.   Mary as Cesar's wife is shown as Mary O'BRIEN, 1904-1997.

William and Sophia ARMSTRONG's children:
George William Clarence  1894-1918
Cesar Roy 1896-1968
Julius Serle 1899
Alfred E  1902-1903
Florence M  1910 -2000
Ronald Hamilton 1911-

Right ...  so earliest ARMSTRONG on this submitted tree who died in NSW seems to be James ARMSTRONG 1810 (Glasgow) - 21 March 1867, Greigs Flat NSW who married Elizabeth JAMIESON 1816-1899.  Their daughter Mary Ann SLATTERY (no, I cannot see how this lass became SLATTERY, it seems to have been her birth surname) 1847-1890 was born 1847 at Cunningham Point near Bombala.

Not sure how any of that helps, I am always so wary of submitted trees...

An official transcription of Kenneth Vincent's 1957 NSW marriage certificate would provide information about him (when and where born) and about his parents.

An official transcription of Ronald H ARMSTRONG's 1911 NSW birth Certificate (with parents as William and Amelia S) registered Casino NSW would give names and ages of all his older siblings, as well as information about when and where his parents married and his mum's nee name...  #38763 ... it should include Florence M ARMSTRONG's birth 1910 as per parents are indexed as William and Amelia at NSW BDM online.

Here is a digitised passenger list from NSW Archives for the arrival to Sydney in May 1839 of James ARMSTRONG and his wife Eliza and daughter (also Eliza).  They were from Glasgow, Scotland.  They were Presbyterian, James was aged 29, a Plasterer, and could Read and Write.  His wife, Eliza was aged 22, a Servant, also Presbyterian and she too could Read and Write.  Their daughter Eliza was 2 years of age. All three were from Glasgow.   They were Bounty Emigrants.  http://indexes.records.nsw.gov.au/ebook/list.aspx?series=NRS5316&item=4_4784&ship=Formosa

An offline list of Bounty Emigrants has his parents as Alexander ARMSTRONG and Jane CUNNINGHAM, and Eliza (his wife) her parents as Ebenezer JAMESON and Elizabeth AULD.
That info seems to match up to the following :

I am sure other experienced researchers will agree that finding information from trees on Ancestry is not sound research. You run the risk of simply repeating the same errors made by those putting up their trees in the first place.

Cecil Roy ARMSTRONG died in 1964, not 1968.

He is the same man who enlisted in WW1 and his death record and military record have been provided by previous kind helpers on this thread.

At the time of enlistment he was unmarried and married Mary O'BRIEN in 1923.
There were children.

There was a separation, and divorce,  Cecil remarried.

The name of his second wife has been listed here on the thread in the 1961 marriage.and again in the WW1 file where she is referred to in a letter.

There is a new thread started looking for more information re the Bounty Emigrants ....  but I remain concerned about that submitted tree ....

I agree with Sue about copying other people's trees.  I hope our OP has obtained the NSWBDM certs or official transcriptions from their grandfather back to validate the comment 'mostly correct' .... no point in researching Bounty Emigrants unless there's a set of records leading there.  .... The opening post :
Looking for relatives or information.
Cecial Roy Armstrong and Mary Armstrong married, also have a son Kenneth Vincent Armstrong who is my grandfather I think they moved from overseas to Australia as I can't find any information please help!
